Zambezi Kingfisher Lodge

Nestled in the Sikunga area along a tranquil backwater of the Zambezi River, just 30km from Katima, Zambezi Kingfisher Lodge offers a secluded, off-the-grid retreat. This rustic, self-catering lodge features six river-facing chalets designed for those seeking both adventure and peace. While fishing is the primary draw, the breathtaking scenery and soothing atmosphere make it equally ideal for unwinding and reconnecting with nature. The area teems with birdlife and wildlife, ensuring every moment brings something new to discover.

Access to the lodge is exclusively by boat, heightening its sense of privacy and escape from the everyday. During the dry season—from late June to December—guests with 4×4 vehicles may reach the camp directly. Otherwise, convenient boat transfers are available from Mubala Camp, where safe parking is provided when road access is limited.

The lodge’s aesthetic reflects authentic African craftsmanship, with most furnishings and décor handcrafted by staff or artisans from across Zambia. This adds a warm, locally rooted character to the stay. Committed to sustainability, Kingfisher Lodge draws most of its energy from solar power and encourages a catch-and-release policy for fishing, helping protect the region’s natural beauty for future generations.
